Supporting safer communities: Tuath secures €142,500 Community Safety Fund grant
12th October, 2026
We’re delighted to share that Tuath has recently been awarded €142,500 through the Department of Justice’s Community Safety Fund 2026.
The funding will be used to support a new project led by Tuath’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) team.
The team secured the funding for its application, Resolving and Reducing Conflict; a project focusing on building safer, stronger and more connected communities. This initiative will introduce a ‘restorative’, early-intervention approach to community safety, helping residents and staff address neighbour disputes and low-level conflict before issues escalate into formal enforcement action.
Tuath’s ASB team will lead the delivery of the programme over the next two years. It will:
• Provide accredited restorative practice training to approximately 40 to 50 staff members and 60 residents.
• Establish a restorative community pilot within a selected housing scheme.
• Develop formal referral pathways with Community Restorative Justice Ireland to support independent interventions.
• Refer approximately 25 anti-social behaviour and neighbour dispute cases for restorative resolution, with a focus on dialogue, accountability and repairing harm.

Why this project matters
This funding is a significant boost for the work of the ASB team. It supports Tuath’s wider commitment to community safety through our developing Community Safety Strategy.
By investing in prevention and early intervention, the programme will help residents to develop the skills and confidence to resolve conflict constructively. It will aim to strengthen relationships and foster a greater sense of safety within their communities.
Planning is now underway, with the ASB team working alongside colleagues across the organisation to roll out the programme. Further updates, including training opportunities and pilot activities, will be shared as the project progresses.
Congratulations to everyone involved in securing this funding. This investment will help us to build on the excellent work already taking place across Tuath and to continue delivering positive outcomes for the residents and communities we serve.
